Have you recovered a lost pet? Share your story with the Lost Pet Research Database and help improve recovery efforts for pets everywhere. These surveys are for pets that were lost and have since been found, regardless of outcome. If your pet is still missing, this survey isn't the right fit. We're gathering data to better understand how far lost pets travel and what factors contribute to their loss and recovery.
There are separate surveys for recovered dogs, indoor-only cats, and outdoor-access cats. Each survey only takes a few minutes to complete. You may submit a survey if you are the owner/guardian of the lost pet or assisted with the recovery of the pet.
These surveys were created in partnership with Jim Thompson of Chesapeake Thermal Drone Recovery. After completing a survey, you can view the preliminary results and charts. You can also request a copy of the results via Excel spreadsheet.
